VELVET REVOLVER: New Live Videos Posted Online

May 18, 2004

Guitarist Slash's official web site has posted two video clips of VELVET REVOLVER performing at the Roxy in Hollywood, CA on May 9. The following tracks are available for download:

Mr. Brownstone (GUNS N' ROSES cover) (Windows Media)
Crackerman (STONE TEMPLE PILOTS cover) (Windows Media)

In a recent interview with Launch Radio Networks, VELVET REVOLVER frontman Scott Weiland stated that he isn't just the lead singer in VELVET REVOLVER — he's also a big fan of the work his bandmates Slash and Duff McKagan did in GUNS N' ROSES. "[The GNR 1987 debut] 'Appetite For Destruction' was my era('s) 'Never Mind The Bollocks, Here's The Sex Pistols'," he said. "That's what that record was for me, and I think that's what that record was for my generation. That's how important that record, I think, was — for rock-and-roll in general, and for the music industry."

VELVET REVOLVER will release their debut album, "Contraband", on June 8 through RCA Records.
